InnoVISION Ships EIO AP-1680 Ultra ATA/133 IDE RAID Controller Cards
Hong Kong January 28 2002 --- InnoVISION Multimedia announced today the EIO AP-1680 Ultra ATA/133 IDE RAID Controller Card that supports storage devices with RAID (0 and 1) capability beyond 137GB. Data can now be transferred at speeds up to 133 MB/sec and hard drive capacity can be accessed beyond 137 GB with fully utilizing the 48-bit addressing range in the Logical Block Address (LBA) mode.
The EIO AP-1680 Ultra ATA/133 IDE RAID Controller Card increases data transfer rates between a hard disk drive and a personal computer up to 33 percent compared with normal ATA/100 controllers. Until recently, the performance and reliability of RAID were available only to a limited few willing to pay the high price carried by SCSI-based systems. The introduction of EIO AP-1680 Ultra ATA/133 IDE RAID Controller Card has allowed for a cost-effective RAID solution with Ultra fast data transfer which broadening market reach into the mainstream, low-end server, and workstation market segments.
